These are not our opinions about competitors. They are the most-cited complaints against the category, and each one has an architectural answer rather than a promise.

Fake progress

A progress bar that reaches 100% over a build that does not work. It is the single most-cited complaint against every tool here, because it is invisible until you try to use what you were given.

What we do instead

We say so immediately, name what is missing and what finishing would cost, and let you rewind to the last good step and change one instruction. An honest failure with a free recovery retains better than a fake success.

Code that fails a security review

Veracode measured that 45% of AI-generated code fails basic security tests. Every competitor ships that code to production and calls it done.

What we do instead

The gate holds veto power. A finding above threshold stops the build and is shown to you with its file, its line and the rule that caught it. You do not argue with it and you cannot ship past it.

A bill you cannot predict

Credits are the bill-shock mechanism: you cannot know what a build costs until you have already spent them. That opacity is a choice every competitor made.

We sell dollars. The estimate appears before the spend with its confidence band, and the wallet is prepaid — so overspending is structurally impossible rather than merely discouraged.

How it works

Admit, guard, build, gate, ship.

Five stages, and every one of them is on screen. You never watch a spinner, and the running cost never leaves the page.

  1. Admit

    The Control Plane admits the request and scopes it to your tenant. Nothing spends money, mutates state or ships an artifact without passing through it.

  2. Guard

    ProfitGuard estimates the cost and holds the funds before a model is called. Blocking a call after paying for it is not a guard.

  3. Build

    Files arrive in the editor as they are written. The Decision Engine chooses the stack, so you are never asked to already know one.

  4. Gate

    Scanners run in parallel and stream findings as they are produced. A gate that makes you wait in silence is a gate you would ask us to turn off.

  5. Ship

    The preview boots in its own hardened container, on a network created for that workspace alone. Deploy gives you a URL you can send to somebody.

The catalog you see is generated from the wired runtime set, never hand-maintained. A chip for a scanner that no runtime list contains — a gate that could never go green — is structurally impossible rather than merely fixed.

Nothing destructive without a word

Our largest competitor’s worst incident was an AI that autonomously ran a backend migration, corrupted the customer’s data and broke the app. Each of these now requires an explicit human approval, modelled as a node that holds no worker and simply waits.

One workspace per tenant, on a network of its own — Every generated application runs in its own container, on a Docker network created for that workspace alone — attaching workspaces to one shared bridge fails closed in the code, not in a policy document. The container drops every Linux capability, cannot regain privileges, and carries explicit CPU, memory and process limits. Be precise about what that is: a hardened container that shares the host kernel, not a hypervisor. A separate kernel per workspace is on the roadmap and is not what runs today. A buyer who checks will find we said so before they asked.

WebContainers — the runtime behind Bolt and StackBlitz — cannot execute native binaries. Python support is limited to core language features without pip. Go and Rust must cross-compile to WebAssembly to run at all. That is not a gap better prompts close; it is their substrate. We run a real Linux container with a real userland, so a native binary is simply a binary. Our own gate is the proof: eight of the fifteen scanners are native executables — Semgrep, Gitleaks, Trufflehog, Trivy, Govulncheck, OSV-Scanner, Syft, ScanCode — and the workspace image fails its readiness check if any one of them is missing. Not one of them could run in a browser sandbox.

Our first law forbids returning fabricated data where real data is expected, and it says explicitly that the law applies to our own marketing.
